Phang holds the following prestigious professional qualifications in financial planning: Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Life Practitioner (ChLP), Chartered Financial Practitioner (ChFP) and Registered Financial Planner (RFP) and Shariah RFP. He is currently co-managing the entire Harveston Financial Group.

He is also licensed by the Securities Commission Malaysia as a Capital Markets Services Representative and by Bank Negara Malaysia as a Financial Adviser’s Representative.

Phang is actively involved in the development of the financial planning industry as Vice President of the Malaysian Financial Planning Council’s National Council cum key committee in the FA/FP practise development which works towards spearheading the development of the financial services industry.

An accountant by training, Phang is a member of the Certified Public Accountants Australia (CPA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Phang began his career with Coopers and Lybrand before moving on to ABN-AMRO Bank Bhd. He regularly addressing various issues relating to financial planning in various public seminars, electronic medias and articles for financial journals and local newspapers.
